Reality bites

The first week back at school is coming to an end. I only have classes Monday - Wednesday so I guess it's not too bad. This week has been strange though. I'm tired, my mind is all over the place, I'm panicking about my future, and I just don't want to be in Toronto right now. Thankfully I'm heading to Waterloo tomorrow night to reunite with Elena and meet up with some other amazing people that I spent my summer with so that'll be really nice after these past couple of days.
Reality bites.

I've also had this song stuck in my head ever since I left Thailand..

The first photo was taken in one of the many temples of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia. This little boy was very camera shy when I first tried to take his picture but then he encountered Crash (the one with the tattoos) and really wanted his empty water bottle. Crash refused to give it to him and the boy made this face, before a woman directed him away. The second photo was taken at a local village in Senaru, Indonesia during a village trek I went on. The little girls were also really shy once the cameras came out and I have many failed attempts of them just hiding behind each other. I definitely got pretty lucky with timing in both these shots.

I forgot to mention another thing that I was able to cross off my bucket list: 55. Ride an Elephant. I was given two opportunities during my trip to get to do this, once in Khao Sok and for a second time in Chiang Mai. They really are such beautiful and powerful creatures, and so smart as well. In Chiang Mai I saw elephants painting and the results were definitely pretty impressive! The specific elephant camp I went to in Chiang Mai allows you to live there for a week or two and learn how to become an elephant trainer. You're given an elephant to watch over, feed, clean and then shown how they're trained. This might be a new addition to my bucket list..
