Cairns, Australia.

___My second day in Cairns. Last night was a bit of a write off since it took 28 hours to get here and I had to deal with a 14 hour time difference. So my night included a bubble bath, room service and falling asleep at 7:30pm.
I spent my afternoon walking along the boardwalk and along the Esplanade, which is the main street in the city center. Cairns isn't blessed with beaches as I assumed, there's a long stretch of mud before the water starts. Apparently they tried to create some beaches here a few years ago by bringing in sand but it all got washed away. The Esplanade is filled with little tourist shops and restaurants and even a public pool. There's artwork every couple meters along the entire boardwalk and a 17 day festival began just last night so set up is well underway. It's 28 degrees here now, and I already have a bit of a tan just from walking around for a few hours.
So far, I'm minorly in love.
